RECYCLING
We are the ultimate recycling program. We keep one million pounds of usable products out of our landfills every year by cleaning, recycling and re-selling donated goods. Proceeds generated are then "recycled" to build Habitat houses! Items that are not in good enough condition to sell are used for scrap metal, or recycled in some other manner. We are truly an environmentally friendly business. Supporting the ReStore helps sustain our local environment.
Our Habitat for Humanity ReStore Sarasota includes over 32,000 square feet of donated items that are sold to the public at affordable prices.
Our stores sell a variety of merchandise including, but not limited to: building materials – flooring – tile - lighting fixtures – furniture – appliances – artwork – antiques - electronics - tools and hardware - plumbing supplies and lawn and garden items. We sell just about everything, including the kitchen sink. It is the perfect place to find a replacement item that may need a "vintage" touch. We also carry brand new items donated from store overstocks, manufacturers, builders, and people in the community.
The Restore opened in 2003 to help in the funding of building affordable Habitat homes for Sarasota's low income workers. The
store has a handful of employees and relies largely on the help of our incredible volunteers, who assist in all areas of the store.
